    1. Check and re-authenticate your connections

      • Go to Data > Connections in Power Automate and ensure all connections are valid and authorized.
    2. Verify your permissions

      • Make sure your account has the necessary permissions for the resource you're trying to access.
    3. Contact your admin

      • If you're blocked by a policy, your Power Platform or Microsoft 365 admin may need to adjust settings.
    4. Review the flow’s run history

      • Look at the detailed error message in the flow run history to pinpoint which step is causing the issue.

Make sure the Excel file is stored in:
    • OneDrive for Business
    • or SharePoint Online
If it's in personal OneDrive or local storage, Power Automate will throw a "Forbidden" error.

    2. Table Must Be Defined
Power Automate can only add rows to a defined table in Excel.
    • Open your Excel file
    • Select the data range
    • Go to Insert → Table
    • Name the table (e.g., Table1)

    3. Permissions
Ensure your account has edit access to the Excel file:
    • Go to OneDrive/SharePoint
    • Right-click the file → Manage Access
    • Confirm you have Edit permissions

    4. Connection Issues
Sometimes the Excel connector gets outdated or broken.
    • Go to Power Automate → Data → Connections
    • Find the Excel connection
    • Click Fix connection or Re-authenticateMake sure the Excel file is stored in:
    • OneDrive for Business
    • or SharePoint Online
    •  If it's in personal OneDrive or local storage, Power Automate will throw a "Forbidden" error.

    Hello,

If the Excel is open in another tab is probably that you have errors. Close the excel, Wait 5-10 minutes and re-run again.

    Hope can help you

A 403 forbidden error means the account runn the Update Row action doesn't have permissions to the file or folder location. You'll need to check which account connector is being used for that action:

And then ensure that account has the correct permissions to the location and file that you're trying to update.
