Hi,

I'm trying to write a flow to select values from dropdown. Not happening at all. May be these are not exactly drop downs. Have been struggling with this for long.

Please help.

Regards

Ganesh

Please press F12 on your browser and inspect corresponding drop-down elements and share screenshot with us. We will assess and suggest solution appropriately.

Meanwhile you can employ other options like javascript and send keys to set your drop-down list.

    Good luck 😊

    Hi @Ganeshpower99 ,

Just try as below if you have only 2 fields in drop down.

    Hi Deenuji,

Thanks tons for responding to me. Your profile is very inspiring.

While I'm not from the tech world, I try and manage with novice solutions to automate things at my work place. Manual work comes to me as sin. You mirror the same thoughts I'm sure and hence your profile.

I shall be very grateful if you could spare your very precious time to connect and share my PC screen.

I'm unable to select the values from the drop down. I have tried using the UI element, Click on the Web Page, Using the text string etc.

    Dear Ganesh,

In many portals, select from dropdown of PAD won't work as frameworks of those portals differ.

    Instead try this approach:
Use populate text activity in that field and type the option you want and select the first list that you get (if it's a dynamic drop down) or click down arrow and enter button. It would work.

If it works for you, kindly mark it as a solution.

    Hi Pradeep,

Thanks a ton for responding. Amazed to see your profile. Very inspiring.

I observed that hovering on and return button is not working on this as you correctly mentioned that these elements are tricky in most cases.

What works is clicking. And I'm not able to click it.

It would be wonderful if you could spare your valuable time to screen connect.

    I'm using 8451046072.

Thanks a ton Pradeep for sharing your knowledge.

You guided with using send keys (Down Arrow and Enter) function with single curly braces and it did the trick.

Shall post again if something challenging comes up.

    Regards

    Ganesh

    Hi Enthusiasts,

I'm tying to select the second value from a drop down. I got help to select the 1st. Guidance from @pradeepvarma was to send keys. Used down and return. It solved the issue.

    I have tried:

    (1) Down down and then Return

    (2) Populate Text

    (3) JS to select the UI Element.

    But nothing seems to work.

Any help, I shall be immensely grateful.

The website I'm dealing with has some controls I guess. Doesn't allow me to interact easily.

    Regards

    Ganesh

Some drop down combo boxes include a "save" or confirm button within them that Power automate desktop obviously doesn't support.

Using send keys is a method that does seem to be a good workaround; however, you do need to make sure that you select the window that the offending "combo" box resides in via "click UI element in window" and tab into the "combo box" from there; before using up and down send keys inputs.

The particular combo box I was working with tended to remember the last setting that the user had selected, which means that the starting position can change...so adding "up" keystrokes to make the selection always start the "top" of the box, then work down the requisite number of positions is necessary.
