Sum all numbers from a SharePoint List Column

I understand this question may have been asked before. I am starting a new thread to see if there are any latest features in July 2024.

I have a SharePoint List called Books with a column called Quantity.

This column can have whole numbers only.

I need a Power Automate scheduled Flow that runs at 8am UTC every Monday and sends the total Quantity from this SharePoint List.

    Hi @powerappnewbie4

What would you have done before? What examples did you find when you searched? There are still no SUM expressions, so you can easily use anything you said you found before.

    But here is one.

How to Sum an Array in Power Automate - Power Tech Tips

If I have helped you, I would really appreciate if you please Mark my answer as Resolved/Answered, and give it a thumbs up, so it can help others

What I would have done was:

1- Initialise a variable with initial value 0.

2 - Loop through my array and increment value of variable by the itme()

However, I don't think this is an efficient way.

    Thoughts?

(I will go now and see the link you have given)

    Hi @powerappnewbie4

Here is what I would do.

    1. Create a numeric variable set to 0

    2. Get Items

    3. ForAll of the GetItems Value property

NOTE: make sure to set Concurrence ON, with setting of 1, in the Actions Settings

    4. Insert an Increment Variable (and point to your variable in Step 1, and your Item())

    5. When the Forall is done, your variable will have your value.

If your tenant supports AI Hub and AI Custom Prompts, then you can use https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Copilot-Cookbook/Sum-in-Power-Automate-using-Copilot-custom-prompt/td-p/2835002 for your needs.

As @FLMike has mentioned, at the time of this post, there is no SUM array within Power Automate.  In absence of AI Prompt in your tenant, you need to use the solution provided by @FLMike

Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If this post or my previous reply was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.
