Cannot open attachment from email

Hello,

I've been searching for an answer but haven't been able to get the exact solution from other posts...I built a power automate flow to send an automated email with an attachment (PowerPoint template stored in SharePoint) after a response is received from MS form. It seems like the Power Automate flow worked and I received an "attachment" from the test run. However, I kept getting an error message when I tried to open the attachment. And the attachment cannot be open....

I saw some posts suggesting to use the "legacy/old" design version..but it still does not work for my case..

I also checked the "attachment name" to make sure I do not have any space...but still does not work...

Here's the flow that I built...

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

    Hi @KatLee
Could you switch to the classic designer and get it working in classic before switching to the new designer? New designer is buggy.
Could you look at your previous flow run and confirm that:

    1. The Get file metadata action found a file that is a powerpoint file.

    2. There is something in the body of the Get file content action

Also if the PowerPoint template is actually a template, the extension will be .potx

You cannot then change it to .pptx because a template and a presentation are 2 different formats

    Hi @KatLee ,

Could you please show details of each action? Especially "Send an email".

    Best regards,

    Rimmon

    Hi DJ,

I did try to switch to the classic designer and confirmed that "get file metadata" found the PPT file and there's something in the body of the email...and the file indeed came up as ".pptx" vs. .potx on my side...not sure if that was the issue?

    Hi Rimmon,

Here're the details starting from "Get file metadata" (which was from a SharedPoint site and I tried teams channel and a public drive and they all don't work...) - thanks in advance for helping!
