Need to remove "Approve/Reject" menu and "Submit for Approval Buttons"

Hello- we have a our Power Automate flow setup, following our sequential approval process based on the department that is required to approve the document on SharePoint Online. This is triggered via a custom format on the approval status, that lets a user submit for approval when the item is in draft status (the document can be checked in or out at this point). The flow works as it should, and documents everything that we need.

 

The issue we are running into is that the out of the box approval mechanisms (Approve/Reject and the submit for approval button) interfere with the flow. We would like to utilize versioning, so we do not want to turn off content approval (or build out multiple flows to automatically increment version/track the status as the standard SharePoint does. Looking for tips/help to avoid this to ensure approvals are done consistently.
