QR-Code: Better store in a list or download it ?

Hello there,

to explain my question above:

Im working on a project that make use of QR-Codes. For exmaple: I got a brand new dockingstation, computer or notebook and  I want to mark them with a QR-Code, to recognize the hardware later on. The code gets generated by the serial number, hardwaretype, manufacturer, etc.

Every item, that is mentioned above, should get a code and is writen in a list like in the picture.

So what is the best approache here ?

Should I save the Code in the list as well or on the pc itself ? What would you do ? Are there any better solutions than this ?

    Hi,

    This is actually very simple.

I would use SharePoint and have a record for each piece of equipment then put the record ID in each QR Code

Then use any of the QR Code generators APIs and have the QR Code generate and store in the record for safe keeping.

now you can setup a PowerApps to use your smartphone or tablet to scan the QR code and then put a Gallery in that will show the record when scanned.

Then below the gallery you can put a form to take notes, etc...

I have done this a few times and works great.

    @JayMagness:
is it also possible to scan a QR Code that includes Date, time and clientname, and after the QR Code is Scanned, that automatically a Message will be sent by WhatsApp or SMS to the Person with whome the appointment is?

All appointments are saved in a sharepoint file (Excel).

    Hopefully this is possible.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    With regards,
    Diana
