Hi All,

I know ive seen this written somewhere before but cant find it !!!

I need the commission in a variable (6000)

%Base_Salary%   = 30000

%Commission%    = 20%

%NewVar% = ?

If I put 0.2 as the value in the %Commission% my output is 6000.0 which I dont want.

Thanks all.

I have the same question (0)

If you are simply trying to get rid of the decimal after, use Truncate number.

    Hi Mike,

Yeah done that as a temp measure but was wondering is there a better way.

I will more than likely be adding other vars into the mix and wanted to hit the ground running so to speak.

So, I am not 100% sure why it does this, but I have a clue, and *IF* I am right, this will work.

I think it does this because you multiplied by 0.2.  The general rule for a multiplication or division equation is to report the largest number of decimal places in any single variable. Your 0.2 is causing the .0 to appear. Therefore, let’s get rid of it.

    Instead, try 30,000 * 20 / 100

    see what happens.

    good luck!

    Kaboom 😀

    %(Base_Salary * Commission / 100)%

Thanks Mike, nothing like an old Excel trick, forgot to try that one.

    Cheers pal.
