clone an existing Planner plan as a template using Microsoft Graph API in an automated flow

Hi Folks,

 

We’re looking for a way to clone an existing Planner plan as a template using Microsoft Graph API in an automated flow.

 

The goal is to copy all buckets, tasks, assignments, and dates from the original plan to a new one. We’ve already created an M365 Group and are using it with Planner.

 

Could anyone guide us on the best approach or share examples of how to achieve this?

    So I actually wrote an entire API that does this and much more, and I am turning it into an MCP that you can use, but it will take me a couple of weeks to get it done as I have so much to do right now.
     
    That being said, Clone is a feature in Planner, I do not remember if it clones as much as mine does (it does the Teams, docs, apps, you name it) but it is there. Then you can use it as a Template, unless they removed it.
     
    Look for it, I promise there is one there.
