Background: I have connectted a SQL Server using SQL Server Authentication.

I want to build a automate flow while need to build a step SQL Server Transform data using power query. Choosing the SQL Server Connection and could query the correct data.

But I can't save this flow. Error shows as below:

Flow save failed with code 'DynamicOperationRequestClientFailure' and message 'The dynamic operation request to API 'sql' operation 'SqlGetPassThroughPQMetadata' failed with status code 'BadRequest'. This may indicate invalid input parameters. Error response: {"resultType":"Exception","message":"Unsupported schema type 'string'.","details":null,"errors":[],"evaluationUsage":null}'.

    Hi @Eric_Huang ,

Which step caused the flow to fail to save?

    Could you provide some screenshots?

    Best Regards,

    Wearsky

    Hi @Eric_Huang ,

Are you using azure sql or Sql sever (on-premises)?

The document states that the action cannot be used in azure sql.

    Hi Wearsky,

Our admin told me we are using SQL on-premise not Azure.

    Please noted. Thanks!

Hi @Eric_Huang, did you find a solution? I am receiving the same error trying to save a flow with a Power Query task. The connection and Power Query task are working and I am getting a result.

I just found a solution - my query was doing a Count Values operation. I had to convert the result to a table, then I could save it without the above error.
