Sending Power Bi PDF with Dynamic Email Addresses in Power Automate

Hi All,

I was wondering if you can help me, I have a requirements to send emails of PDFs from Power Bi(or powerbi paginated reports) to end users. Its like a alert system(you didn't do this in the last week so you get a email) so the email should be dynamic and coming from a field in a power bi report.

Is this something that is possible to do in Power Automate? if it helps we have recently received a Power Bi Premium license(which I believe is a requirement for this kind of emailing).

Thanks for your help,

Mark

    Hi @Markpharris ,

You can use the "Export To File for Power BI report" action which can export a report to various formats including PDF.  You can read a bit more here.  As you mentioned, it requires a premium license with dedicated/reserved capacity.

Thanks for the reply Eric, can it take a input of dynamic email addresses from the report though? Like I mentioned its a email letting someone know they haven't filled a certain field out and they then receive this email. The email address will be within the report

    Thanks for your help,

Hello @Markpharris , did you ever manage to get this working?

disappointingly no, we've had to keep using a very old reporting tool where I work which had this ability built in without any viable Power Automate/Power BI solution.

Hi @Markpharris, I've been experiencing the same problem you described. I've attempted to resolve it using Power Automate and Power BI Report Builder, but haven't had any success so far. Could you share which reporting tool you're using? And if you've found any workarounds or solutions to this issue, I'd greatly appreciate hearing about them.

I need this one too but in excel format.. did we get any solution?

I have planned dates which needs revision every month, so I need to send a reminder to the users to update the planned dates and return the report.

Users are already available in PowerBi report.
