Force Full Sync - Recreated Office 365 to Google Calendar Sync from Template

Hello,

I used the Office 365 to Google Calendar Sync flow template in the past, but due to an issue I thought was related to the Flow, I decided to disable then delete the flow. I realized after doing this that the issue I thought was created by using the Flow was unrelated.

I decided to reinstate the Flow yesterday, so I created a brand new one from the pre-defined template. Before recreating the flow, I deleted my Google Calendar entirely to ensure that none of the former appointments were present as I noticed that the body of the synchronized appointments in Google Calendar did indeed contain some metadata flagging them as has having been synchronized.

Unfortunately, no existing appointments are being synchronized from Office 365 to Google Calendar. Only newly created appointments are synchronized.

I suspect this is due to Flow adding some metadata to the Appointments in Office 365 to flag them as having been synchronized at some point in the past, so the new flow is simply ignoring them. I tried creating a custom view in Outlook to display all fields in appointments so I could verify if there is indeed metadata that needs to be cleaned up, but thus far I have been unsuccessful in doing so.

Is there a way to either remove the metadata (if that's what truly is causing the issue) or to forcefully sync all appointments from my Office 365 calendar to the newly created Google Calendar?

Best regards,

-JeffH

    Hi @Cyberjew,

Would you please share the screenshot or the templete of your flow to sync Office 365 outlook calendar to Google Calendar?

Do you use the templete below:

    https://asia.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/galleries/public/templates/221012a4a405471ca382534402d7087a/office-365-calendar-sync-to-google-calendar/

The templete would sync all new created/updated/deleted events from Office 365 outlook calendar to Google Calendar, however, the flow wouldn't sync existing events from Office 365 to Google Calendar.

If you want to sync existing events from Office 365 to Google Calendar, please refer to steps below:

    1. Delete all events in your Google Calendar.

    2. Create a flow to get all existing events in the Office 365 to Google Calendar, and Apply to each event in the Office 365 to Google Calendar, in the Apply to each, create a new event in Google Calendar, so all existing events in the Office 365 would be created in Google Calendar in the flow.

    3. Run the templete flow to sync all new created/updated/deleted events from Office 365 outlook calendar to Google Calendar.

    Best regrads,

    Alice

    Hello,

Yes, that is the template I am using. I simply created connectors to my Office 365 account and Google Calendar - ensured that authentication/authorization for each succeeded, then edited the template to reflect the correct source and destination calendars.

I created 3 screenshots to capture the entire workflow (see below).

While I conceptually understand the flow you are recommending, I am not savvy enough with Flow that I feel confident that I can accomplish those steps. I am willing to give it a try - but if there's any chance you could create the flow for me and send me the JSON file, that would be AMAZING!!!

    Here are the screenshots:

Forgive me - I went to add images to the response, but instead of making things really simple in having a method to simply import images into the response, it looks like you have to maintain the images on another server then embed links to the images. That's totally ridiculous!!!

I ended up putting the images in my OneDrive folder - the links in my last e-mail were meant to display the images directly in the body of the response (public view permissions set).

Instead, here is a link to a folder containing the pictures - hopefully that works better!

OneDrive isn't allowing me to share publically without authentication. Sorry about using Google Drive, but It was a piece of cake to make the files available to you.

    @v-yuazh-msft

Alice, the link you provided is not working anymore. Could this template be found elsewhere? Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards,

    Vladan
