I am trying to set up a SharePoint database to mirror a form we use in the receiving department.

Hello,

I am trying to bring our receiving department into the current year by creating an app that that takes issues encountered with incoming freight and directly linking those to the teams responsible for the issue. Like a ticket system but for problem sheets.

I have the basic list set up but I have hit a snag when it comes to the part of the form that allows for multiple entry's of the same type of data.

for example.

When opening a new ticket, the user will in put the Vendor# (Generated by our system). I set up the Vendor name, Purchaser/their Email and the Accountant/ Their Email to auto fill based upon the user's input. This will remain constant.

Now, when it comes to the list of associated issues, OUR PART #, VENDOR PART NUMBER, QTY ORDERED, QTY RECEIVED, VARRIENCE (+/-), I would like it to allow the user to input line 1 and have an option to ADD A LINE Or SUBMIT The ticket. I have not been able to figure this out yet. With my infantile understanding of this platform, I would assume that we would need to either have a table inside a column to gather and add the associated data, Or I could set it up to a second page/ part of the form where each line enters updates a separate sheet and links them to the OG ticket #. but I think that would be too complicated.

Can someone help me with this? what the best way to do it would be. Am I completely off base in my understanding or should I be using a different process altogether.

Thank you for any input.

    Hi @JDavis237,

You would need to set up two tables and create a relationship between the two. For example, your parent table would be called 'Issues' and your child table would be called 'Issue Items'. The relationship between these two tables would be a one to any relationship, where one issue (parent table) can have many different types of issue items (child table)

You can use a gallery to let the user input multiple entries into the 'Issue Items' table (child table).

This is a good video to watch on how something like this can be done: PowerApps Repeating Tables like InfoPath Part 1 - Enter the data - YouTube

Please tick Accept as solution if the answer is useful.

    Thanks,
