Power Automate - Using Connectors

365 Outlook is not connecting

Hello,

I have just started using Power Automate. I was setting up a flow based on a template, but Office 365 was not connecting.

When I click "Fix Connection," I sign in via my company Single Sign On, but it gives me an error message:

"Connection not found. Please create a new connection and change your application to use the new connection."

But PA is connecting to all the other apps like Teams, Approvals, and Office 365 Users.

This is a corporate account and our IS team needs more information to figure out a solution. They are wondering:

Does Office 365 Outlook connection require a true Office 365 mailbox, or can it connect in Power Automate with a mailbox hosted by an on-premises Exchange server that works with Office 365 Outlook?

If so, would the use of Single Sign On systems such as Okta interfere with the authentication process for it, or require any particular actions to be taken before it would be able to connect the mailbox?

Does the authentication system for that connection require the credentials to be formatted in a particular way, or should it accept any format that would normally work to do a Microsoft.com account login?

Thank you to anyone who can help!

Thank you, Anthony. I can't create a flow from scratch with Outlook. It's probably the Exchange server's fault. I'm waiting to hear back from our IS team again for possible solutions.

    Hi @Stephanie_KOber

First, try to create a new flow from scratch and use an Outlook 365 trigger or action to check if you can establish the connection. If it fails, it should display a more informative error message.

On the other hand, if the mailbox is on a dedicated Microsoft Exchange Server, it will not work. Please verify the common errors from the documentation provided below:

Furthermore, I would suggest using templates as a reference and creating your new flow from scratch. Unfortunately, these templates may not be regularly updated and often contain deprecated actions.

Let me know if this information helps.

    Best.
