line-break not saved in plain text multi-line column of SP list

Hi,

I have a list which has a multiline field.

Entries to this field are saved in the list without the linebreak, when entered from a form.

I have a powerAutomate flow that emails the contents, but the content is all in a single line.

I cannot change to RTF or other format. Reason is that

1) if I do change the column to these formats, the text on the form that is used to enter the data does not allow the user to directly type the text in. It REQUIRES the users to click on the "pen" on the right top corner of the form (for the list)..  I do not want to introduce additional clicks for the user.

2) If I do go with the RTF, my sharepoint page is black background, white text. The multiline text field in RTF defaults to "black" text on "black" background. I searched the "column formatting" Help but couldnt find a simple example to change the textbox while editing it. All the examples I saw were for after the text was entered and how to display it (red/green etc, no examples in black/white here either)

For these reasons, I preferred the "Plain Text".

Can someone please help with retaining the line-breaks in "Plain Text" multi-line column ?

thanks,

Harsh
