Automate access to a particular application

Hi PP Community,

Is there a way to automate access to a particular PowerApp we have within an organisation? The current approach is to review a daily/weekly list of users who require access and just add them manually via the main PowerApp page. If we were able to automate this process this would be very handy for our end users and I am sure other organisations have had this approach with applications that are part of onboarding also.

Thanks!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @mattyn07 ,

I'm afraid there's no way to run an app automatically currently in PowerApps.

It only runs when you open it.

However, maybe you could create a flow based on your demands.

You could run flows on a schedule, which means that the flow will run automatically once in a while.

Here's a doc about how to create this kind of flow for your reference:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/flow/run-scheduled-tasks

If you need help about flow, you could post your issue on flow forum:

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Forums/ct-p/FL_Comm_Forums

What's more, after you create a flow, you could embed it in a powerapps app.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

It was more provisioning access to one of my organisations PowerApps automatically. The business concept is that when someone internally enrols in a course/session they at the end of the course/session will be sent a survey to complete which is built as a Canvas app. Now, I can extract the list of users who need access to this easily however the only way I can provision them access to that particular Canvas app is to manually add them to the app itself via the make.powerapps.com website. Is there a way via a PowerShell script/Flow etc where I could automate that extract and add of users to my particular application?

Hope that makes sense of the problem I am trying to resolve.

    Thanks!

    Any update on this?

The alternate is to share the app with everyone but I am wondering when new users are added to our AD would they be allocated this app as it is shared for everyone or does it need to be reshared to "everyone" consistently.

    Thanks

What about sharing the app with a security group? You could then have a Flow that automatically adds attendees to the group before you send them the link to the app.
