HELP

This sounds relatively simple, in my head at least. I have 3 tables, customer, company and project, I write a BPF with the first stage tied to the project, put the title in,  the second stage is the company table, just the company name, it never gives me the option of selecting a company that already exists in the company table. only ever letting me create a new one. the same if I try customer.

I have tried selecting the company from a lookup on the initial project stage and I can select the company but it still wants me to select a company when I want to progress from stage 1 to stage 2.

What am I doing wrong here?  Is what I'm trying to do not possible?
