Is there a way to create an approval process without it going through Teams?

Hi, I would like to create an approval process without the approvals going through Teams, is this possible? If this is possible, what would a flow look like to:

Send the approval request via email to person/s from a particular column in the list (Approver column)
And automatically update a status column within the list if they approve (Report status (which is a choice column))
When approved, send another email to person/s.

Yes, using Power Automate you can do all those things. But the Approval will still show up in the Approval app in Teams. You don't need to use Teams or interact with the approval there, but any approval created in Power Automate will show up in Teams.

Yes you can disable the Teams notifications approval in your power automate flow.
The users can action the appovals via email
