PAD Need Answers to a few Questions

Greetings!

I have a few doubts regarding Power Automate Desktop,
  • What is the MAX number of actions I can Add within a flow? Is there a limit? If yes, is it for One subflow or one whole flow?
  • Can I add my desktop flow to the solution for deployment? If yes, How do i trigger the flow?
  • Can I trigger it through the App?
  • Is there anything like error management system in it? [Like how UIPath has Orchestrator]
  • Can I save the variables dynamically ? eg - in Cloud flows we add environment Variables which are dynamic, is there anything i can do here to config it from the backend?
I have the same question (0)

I don't think there is a limit or atleast I couldn't find any info on it and I haven't run into max number of actions limit. For testing I just created a flow with 17k "Set variable" -actions (I also had 5 testing subflows with some different actions) and was able to save it and bring it to my solution and export it.
So no limit but PAD might become unstable with so many actions.

Yes you can. You trigger the flow from Cloud flow. So create a solution. Bring the Desktop flow into that solution, create cloud flow which you choose a trigger like power apps trigger or scheduled trigger or something else. Then Run Power Automate Desktop flow -action starts the PAD flow. You need premium license for that and you need to choose if you want it to be attended or unattended run.

Regarding those first two questions few years ago there was 25mb size limit on solutions. Now the limit seems to be 95mb. With actions you are never gonna reach that (I exported the test solution with PAD flow that had 17k actions and it was 3.4mb). Only way I reached the 25mb limit few years ago was with having lots of UI elements and since those also save screenshot of the elements that can take space. But you should not need to worry about size limit.

    • Can I trigger it through the App?
Yes just bring the app to the same solution. Then for cloud flows trigger use "When Power Apps calls a flow".

I am not familiar with UIPath but with Power Automate you can check the Flow Run history

There you can see all the past PAD flow runs and see if there was errors or not.
The logs have max cap limit of 32mb.

You might want to build Error handling in PAD so that the flow doesn't fail but returns an errorlist or table that tells where the error happened. So if you loop through some items your whole flow doesn't fail just because one item could not be processed by the flow. Use On block error for that in PAD.

I am not certain I understand. In any case you can use Initialize variable and Set variable -actions in Cloud flows to have dynamic variable. There are also work queues.
