Copying a Sharepoint User/Group column to plain text

Hello!

I am building an App and I am having delegation problems with a filter that contains data from a User/Group column in my Sharepoint data base. This column is specifically .Department.

I have been reading about it and it says that a simple solution would be to create a column right next to it with the same info, but connverted to text and Automate could help me do that.

I am not very familiar with power automate, and even though I was looking at how I could build up the flow, I just got completely lost.

This is the configuration of my column in Sharepoint (User/Group; Department as shown field)

I looked at possible solutions, but most of them were to update a different sharepoint and not the very same one once that field is completed

Could you please help me?

Thank you in advance!!!

    @Fernanda

    You need to have a new flow that runs manually and list all rows in the sharepoint list , add an apply to each loop and update item action as below:

    Then to update the text column from the department you can update your text field from the department field of the Group Column
