Sigh... aside from the many bugs I have come across with the new designer, this latest one this morning is indeed the biggest one. When I open an existing flow, I cannot edit it whatsoever in the new designer interface. Every property of every action is GREYED OUT. I switch to classic and everything is editable. I close it out unchanged, retry - same experience. Everything is locked in the new designer, and wide open in classic. Come back 30 minutes later - same browser window, same session, and retry. New designer now is no longer greyed out. How long did it take for it to "fix itself"? Who knows? However, this kind of nonsense is impactful. Amateur hour.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there something I can do myself to resolve? I'm feeling like this new designer was rushed to market far too quickly (possibly to coincide with Ignite). With this number of bugs it should *not* be the default experience. It should be flipped where classic is default and you can toggle to the new designer while they work out the kinks.
"Interesting" like a car crash 🙂 I agree with you on their intent, and will say it is also about getting premium licensing revenue. While I love the amazing power in the cloud, I do miss the days of knowing my production environment supporting thousands of users will be the same on Monday as it was on Friday and having some modicum of control over when new functionality is released. Most of the time I feel like the MS is using all of their customers as beta testers.
New designer keeps it interesting!
Will it break my flow on opening? Is my new flow not working because of my mistake or did the designer break it? Did the new designer change default settings for actions? Are there any updated instructions or references for the new designer? Who knows!?
They want everyone to use the new designer so that the AI can learn how to build things correctly. Otherwise everyone would use Classic and never really show all the problems of the new designer.
