Hello,
I have set up a flow to populate a word template with data from Dataverse, and to see my output I currently send that to myself in an email. I set the trigger to ‘manually trigger flow’ originally, so I could work on getting the flow up and working, but now I am struggling to know what trigger to use and how to set it from my app - all ideas welcome? Also, I could do with changing how users see my output?
Context:
I have designed a flow so data from Dataverse can be filtered before being input into my template (meaning I only pull in certain data I want). The template has plain text fields and repeating rows. The reason I am designing this is so senior management only see Risks and Issues on project work of a particular status and not all Risks and Issues. I need users (e.g. senior management) to be able to access an output (e.g. my word template) from the solution (model driven app), and not by receiving an email like I currently have it set to - this is because different management will look at the system at different points.
Blockers:
I am aware in my app that the option to ‘create a flow’ button exists. However, this appears to fall outside of my licence so I cannot use it and need a workaround. E.g. one idea I had… maybe a button in my solution and a way to connect to it in my flow - is this possible?
@Anonymous
I would suggest to create a new Table in DataVerse Called Risks and Issues, this table will have the below attributes:
1. Name which include the Date Report is generated
2. File Column as well where you can save the file from your flow
Then your flow can be a recurrent flow that is generated Monthly or whatever suits your business , filter and generate the document and add new record in the new table.
Add a new security role and give access only to Management to this table and add it to the Model Driven App so they can access the record and download the report.
