Approval stuck on Loop for 2 days

Hi All,

I am building a flow where someone submits a form then it will go through first approval, 2nd approval, add to SharePoint list and have attachments on each approval.

The first approval is fine, but when it comes to the second approval where it requires more than one approver it gets stuck on a loop for 2 days.

'Do Until 2' is set to delay for 48 hours. This means the Flow will simply wait for 2 days before it proceeds.

It would be best to remove the 'do until' loop and the right-hand parallel branch all together, as the 'start and wait for an approval 2' action will automatically wait for the user/s to approve or reject.

You could then add another condition (like you have already done for approval 1) after 'start and wait for an approval 2' and set it to 'Outcome' is equal to 'Approve' to add the logic you wish to occur when the second approval is approved.

Yes, I realised that after I posted this.

It works fine, after i removed the Do Until loop inside the if yes condition.

However, I do want to keep the "do until" loop, as that loop is a reminder for the approver.

Are you saying, I should move my second approval outside of the If Yes condition?

OK, I understand the requirement now to have a reminder sent out. That explains the do until loop.

In that case I'd say leaving it in is fine, however add a condition in the do until look that says if Approved is equal to False, send the email. That way it will only send if the approval is still outstanding.

Basically, there is no way to prevent the Flow from waiting for the 2 days to elapse, despite the approval completing. It still sends out the reminder you're looking for, but just means the Flow has to wait for the delay. The only alternative would be to have a separate reminder flow that monitors the approval status column on the list or library data source.

You may have already seen these, but they detail the methodology you're using. The only thing you're missing is the condition after the delay

    Thanks mate.

I realised I missed the condition on the second "Do Until" loop, which I had on the first.

After adding back the condition "if variable approve is equal to false" that fixed it.
