Combining PDFS based on extracted text

Hi

I'm new to PAD and am having difficulty creating my first complicated flow. I have a folder of pdfs which are scanned documents. I need to combine the pdfs and name each group of combined pdfs from text identifier on the first page of each group of documents. For my test batch i have 6 pdf's that need to be combined into 2 pdfs with the cover page at the front which contains the identifier text and saved using the identifier value. I can combine the pdfs into 2 pdfs but it includes all the pdf pages, and when I try to save the pdfs using the candidatename variable it gives me an invalid path error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi RM001

Could you please share the error message screenshot?

Meanwhile you can try to mention the folder name directly something like "C\TEMP\PDF" and append your file name instead of variable folder name (outfolder).

or directly just hardcode the file something like "C\TEMP\PDF\mergefile.pdf" to understand the exact issue?

    Thanks,
    Deenu

    Hi Deenuuji

Yes, hardcoding the file name works. The main issue is the combining of the PDFs and knowing where to stop combining and then start combining another PDF. I don’t know how to identify when the loop gets to a new pdf with the text identifier and to then create and combine the PDFs again and continue doing so for the rest of the folder.
