Transform excel data org chart to Visio File

Hello,

I want advice on finding a way to automatically transform Excel data into a Visio "Organization Chart Template" file to visualize the position hierarchy.

The main goal of the flow is to convert the excel file to Visio and send it out to HR by email to access it directly.

What will be the best approach to achieving it through the Power Platform?

Best regards,

Julien

I can't confirm it is Impossible. But as far as I know, it can't be done with Power Automate Cloud Flow.

(You might be able to do it with Desktop Automate; however, I have never tried and have limited knowledge of Desktop Automate. If you have the capability to use Desktop Automate and want to try that method, you should post this question again in the Forum Power Automate Desktop and see if someone knows.)

You can have an Excel file that is linked to a Visio, and then update the Excel file with Power Automate Cloud Flow. However, you won't be able to update the Visio file from a Cloud Flow as far as I know.

So you will have an Updated Excel file, but not an updated Visio file.

I think Visio is a software that Microsoft has really not put any effort into updating for modern use. Probably because it was so complicated by itself in the first place.

I'm not the authority on Visio, but I have given it a try making org charts like 2 years ago. Could not get it to update in an automatic method.

Maybe something has changed since then, or a wizard will see this post and have an answer. I've been schooled plenty of times before on here.
