Is it possible to make the Portal accessible to the visually impaired?
For example, Black-Yellow button, larger font size.
Thanks in advance
Hi @Bettinahorvath ,
this is an excellent question and hint - thanks a lot.
You can customize the layout and look and feel of the portal in many ways. It uses bootstrap as a basic framework. This of course could be applied with already a high-contrast version. Additionally, custom.css can be applied and the portals support also theming.
So, from a css site, there is no problem but i have no css in my hands to directly apply.
Additionally, you have to heavily think about your content. As my son has also issues on visual stuff you have to reduce the content. When i hear his supporting software speak, i do not get the message 🙂 - it has to be much more concise. Also the Navigation has to be much more simple i think.
Additionally, not all visually impaired people just need bigger fonts or more contrast. To serve really a broad audience on that you might have to think of a kind of swiching the themes, which is not an oob-feature, but technically feasible.
Sorry for so much text, but the question is really inspiring. This really leads to another level of content. Technically, its not a high challenge, in terms of contents, it is 🙂
Have fun,
Christian
