How to find out DataSource details which are added to app

Hello, Is there is way to find DataSource details after it was added?

Lets say, I am brand new to app, I just started working on.when I open app, I am not getting data from DataSource. I want to check Details of DataSource so that I can verify?

Is it possible? I am working on app to fix DataSource errors. I dont know from where these DataSources are added(From Excel, from sharepoint..etc) I dont know. I am unale to proceed further...

Any help?

Hi @balachandra,

I am not sure I understand your questions.

Data source in PowerApps is only connections, unless we "query" the corresponding data, there is no data details could be referenced under PowerApps.

Content->Data Source->Data Sources(on the right pane of PowerApps studio)

@balachandra, do you still need further help about this issue? To view the details of the DataSource, please sign in PowerApps ->In the left navigation bar, click Connections -> select the connection which you added in the app -> click Edit to view the details.

I have a smilar question that I can't seem to find in the links you have suggested. I am going back to an App I created some time ago when I was first experimenting with PowerApps. I using the web version, not Studio. I want to update the Excel table with additiona source information. I would do this oputside the App. The App is only using this information for lookup purposes. While I can see the table name that is referenced for the data, I am struggling to find the Excel file the table is in. Poor documentation on my part and I could certainly start-ove but if someone has any ideas, your reply would be appreciated.

I think I have done exactly the same thing - connected a PowerApp to an Excel file, and now I cannot see the path of the Excel file.

Yes go to View on the top Nav Bar and then press Data sources. The data sources you are currently connected to will appear.

Looking at Data Sources gives me the names of the Tables, but not the name of the Excel file or path?

I have the same question. For my purposes since I only have one environment to work in and my data source comes from a Sharepoint list I do not have full control over - only a member connection to, I have duplicated that list to my own admin controlled SP list to effectively have a test environment to try out reading/writing data from my app.

So, with that in mind, I want to set up a simple label that only shows "TEST DATA" if my gallery is pulling information from the TEST SP list. On the other hand, if it's coming from production, then the label would be gone.

I know I can check the properties panel on the right of the gallery to see the data source; however, what I need is to "read" what that data source is so I can perform an IF statement for the TEST DATA label visible property to say if my data source is TEST DATA SOURCE, then visible = true.

I'm thinking I might use the GUID, but I'm not familiar enough with the formatting of the formula to get any valid output using that.

Any ideas around that?

Go to your One drive for business. Search for Power Apps Template and the data source can be found there [if its created from an existing template].
