In the new update of power automate desktop, I am not finding any proper syntax for Document Path field using a dynamic variable. Previously we used the variable like '%variable%', but in the new update , the variable is coming sometimes as '=variable' or '${variable}'. New documentation is also not provided by Microsoft after getting the new update released. So anyone from the Microsoft community, give some solution for the correct syntax as I am getting error. Hi @sushreeta09 ,

You have enabled the Power Fx option while creating the new Flow. That is the reason your finding differnces in Variable syntax. Power Fx in PAD is still in Preview state ,so we dont recommened it to use in Production or development.
Please disable the Power Fx option while creating the flow as shown in below image and Create the same flow in the new flow.
It will solve your issue.

In Power Fx you use & -symbol to add something like text in the middle. So if you want to add "/" in the middle use =FolderPath & "/" & FileName
And to refer to a variable you use equals sign before the first variable.
Check also that your NewDateFolder.FullName is not returning the file name(with extention) since that is the first variable in the document path.

And as @VishnuReddy1997 pointed out Power Fx is in preview and is not recommended for production usage.

I have check it, NewDateFolder.FullName is only returning the folder path not any file extension. But do you have any idea how to disable the Power Fx once the flow has been created, as I am not seeing any option to do that?

Hi @sushreeta09 ,

As of the information I have, once you have enabled Power Fx in a flow in Power Automate Desktop, it isn’t possible to disable it. This is because Power Fx is integrated into the flow at the time of creation and is used as the expression language for that particular flow.

If you want to work with a flow without Power Fx, you would need to create a new flow without enabling Power Fx. When creating the flow through Power Automate Desktop’s console, you would leave the Power Fx toggle button disabled.

Can you suggest how to write this '=NewDateFolder.FullName & "\" & CurrentCategoryItem' using power fx enabled, here CurrentCategoryItem is als a variable and =NewDateFolder.FullName is returning the folder path

If NewDateFolder.FullName is folder path (and does not end with the filename) and CurrentCategoryItem is file name then it should work as you wrote it:
=NewDateFolder.FullName & "\" & CurrentCategoryItem
Can check or show those variable values? That they are actually correct to create full correct file path

If i am passing this '${NewDateFolder.FullName}\abc', then it is creating a abc.xlsx file in the folder path, but instead of some random text 'abc', i want to pass a variable here, here actually i am getting error, i am not finding any corret way to pass the variable after '\' symbol.
