Creating an Event---Pulling Content from Excel Sheet for Title of Event

Hi everyone!

For context we create/send out invites weekly for regularly scheduled events/group sessions. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to pull content from an excel sheet (Group Session Names/Subtopic Column-"FYI: What is an IEP"..."Exploring Different Learning Styles" etc.

I would want to schedule it to run every Monday at 8 AM to create events for the week. See weekly schedule for reference

The group session time slots do not change.

The Small Group content being presented on (Tues 10-11, Tues 4-5, Wed 1-2) and (Thursday 10-11, Thurs 4-5, Fri 1-2) is identical. This provides various available sessions to our clients if one particular day or time does not work for them.

Our Multi Day Sessions occur Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 11-12 PM.

We store our topics and such in an excel sheet which is where I hope to be able to pull the data from. I can rearrange the spreadsheet to accommodate the flow)* and use that Title to create an event with that Title.

I hope this makes sense. Can anybody assist me with creating/building a flow?

    Dear H,

What you want to do can probably be done ... but I see 2 issues with you input:

    1. It seems that you use Excel in a visual way ... not necessarily in data-processing way. What I mean by this is that the excel sheet is made to look nice and visually distinctive for humans. This can be a problem when you want to process data via a flow because the flow cannot recognize visual distinctions as a human can. Flows cannot see colours and can only see that value of a cell ... not the distinctions in lines/format you make inside the cell. So mixing of data elements inside 1 cell is generally not good, for example dates and titles.
    2. It seems that your excel is not defined/formatted as a table. A flow can only 'read' a table if within Excel this has been defined as a table and has a table-name. This again has certain limitations on what you can do.

Once you are aware/understand the above you should be good.

Suggest you try some simple templates first in which data is saved/pulled from excel tables for you to learn/understand better. You can find plenty examples in the 'Templates', just search for excel tables ...

    Happy flowing,

    Koen
