Import Excel Feature

Hello community,

I am looking for ideas on how you have built an import from Excel feature into your PowerApps (Canvas or Model Driven). The backend data source is Dataverse and the users are do not have any previous knowledge of working with Power Apps. What are the pros and cons of each method?

Any inputs appreciated.

I'm not quite sure if this is what you're looking for, but I had a requirement in which people wanted to take data from an Excel file, paste it into a Power App, and then have the data uploaded to a SharePoint list. To accomplish this, I used a video by Shane Young to get the gist of it and then modify it to fit my needs. Here's the video - PowerApps Paste from Excel Table, update, and then upload to data source (youtube.com). My project and this video are both over 2 years old now, so I'm not sure if this is still the "go-to" method for such a thing.

If you're looking for something in which you literally drop in an Excel file into Power Apps, I'm not sure there's a way to do so, at least not by my knowledge. I also can't speak for the Dataverse part of your question as I've never used it, but I imagine the solution above should still work but you'll need to change it to update Dataverse instead.

I'm not sure if there is an easier way and if I understand you correctly. But you could create a flow that is taking the excel-file and upload it into sharepoint. From there you could use it as data in Power Apps or sync it with your Dataverse.
