Display mode of a data card that is dependent on a dropdown value, is not working

What error am I making in my If-then statement?

I have a data card in my Power Apps form that is to be disabled, unless a specific value from a dropdown is selected in which case the data card then becomes editable. FYI, my data source for the form is a table in Dataverse.

The Dropdown

The Data Card

The data card's display mode should be 'edit' when the dropdown value is "Sole Proprietor" ... if the dropdown has a value other than "Sole Proprietor" then the data card's display mode should be 'disabled.'

Error Message

I'm hoping someone can clarify this message I'm seeing in Power Apps and give me some direction as to what correction I need to make in my formula. I thought that the selected value in a dropdown is type 'text,' but maybe not?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read to my post, I hope it made enough sense to make it easy to reply to.

Best,

Kristine

Thanks, Drrickryp... it seems however, I don't have "Option Sets" available to me. I do have "Choices," though, and that is what I used.

However, I am noticing that I selected the data type for the column, "Structure" to be "Choice" ... I'm wondering if I should have set it to "Choices?"

    Choice is an Option set.

    what happens if you do:

    If(DCV_Structure_dd.Selected.Value ='Corporate Structure'.'Sole Proprietor',
    DisplayMode.Edit,DisplayMode.Disabled)

The bits in red I guessed based on the error and what you shared above it may be spelt differently or you may have called it something differently, if there is an error share what it and if it works please let us know 🙂
