Forced to use 'Send Physical Click' for action on browser screen Copy button

Hello -

I would like for all my browser actions to be without 'Send Physical Click' on. However, when the flow comes to clicking on a Copy button in the browser instance the flow fails while using the copied text. It works fine when 'Send Physical Click' is on when copying the text with that same Copy button.

Any idea why this is?
What else can I provide this post to troubleshoot?

Thanks!

Browser might be blocking it. If you open that lock icon on the browser search bar is the usage of clipboard enabled?

So have it be allowed by default

If that does not work then I think it might be due to some build in security for that element/site so that a scripting can't use your clipboard. So it requires user interaction which it sees the "Send physical click" as being since the RPA actually clicks the button and not just use script to activate it.

Why do you not want to use "Send physical click"?

    Hello @eetuRobo -

Thank you for the reply. I was able to set the browser to allow clipboard then it worked. I am surprised the browser saved the setting for this page actually.

The reason I am setting "Send Physical Click" off is because, otherwise, I thought, my mouse movements would interfere with the run while it is running. Is that not true?

Okay so you have the automation running on the desktop that you are also yourself using at the same time. Then I understand why you would not want to use the 'Send physical click'. And yes I think you are right that there is a chance that your own mouse movements might interfere with the automation then. I didn't think of that since all my automations run on dedicated remote desktop. You could also consider then using Picture in Picture if other problems arise with running the flow while you are working on your machine: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/run-desktop-flows-pip

Great to hear that allowing the clipboard on the browser solved it for you!
