Unattended flow

"I have an automatic flow set up on a virtual machine to try and run in both attended and unattended mode, in case one of them fails. When I sign out, attended mode is expected to fail and does so, but so does my unattended flow with this error message: "There is a user session on the target machine. Cannot execute unattended desktop flow." Machine status says connected, otherwise I have no information and my system administrator refuses to look into the problem.

Theres a possibility that it is the same problem as this: Unattended Flow (powerplatform.com) , however I also would like to see any alternate guesses so that I have more options to send to my admin.
I have the same question (0)

Is there any Delay before the unattended run starts? Try adding 5 minute wait to make sure that your user session is completely logged out before the unattended bot tries to access the machine.

If that doesn't do it then I would troubleshoot and try to run unattended run manually to see if that gives the same error. I assume the unattended bot is using same user credentials as you are when you log into the virtual machine (if they are different then make sure no one else is logged into that machine with those credentials).

There is no delay hardcoded into the flow itself, but I do wait before running the flow after I disconnect. Sometimes up to several days even. Yes, the bot is using the same credentials and my system admin said no other users have access to the machine.

Hmm... Now I realize this button Im clicking says "disconnect", not "sign out"... I don't know anything about anything when it comes to virtual machines... But there is no actual "sign out" button, so I wonder if I really am signed out or what happens when I click that

The issue have been resolved. I managed to find the sign out button on my virtual desktop. I apologize for wasting your time since the solution turned out to be so trivial

Great to hear that you figured it out!

I had done that same mistake several times when I started to use Unattended bots. It just seemed logical to disconnect from the VM since I thought it would also sign out😅
