Sending email from a service account

IT has set up a service account for me that does not require MFA and does not need to update passwords on regular basis.

I want to use this to send emails in Flow.

I created a new outlook connection and put in the credentials for this account.

It says I dont have rights to send on behalf of... if I put in full credentials why do I need to have send as rights?

Also, this is not a Shared mailbox and it was very painful just getting this service account setup, not sure I want to go back through all that for a shared mailbox.

Am I doing something incorrect?

Seems like a pretty basic thing having email notifications go out using a specific account.

Use Following action in the flow. You do not need service account and email will be sender from Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate default address...

Please mark this as Answer if this solves your problem.

Hi, yes.. maybe one other detail would've helped...

Yes I know how to send emails, have emails sent as the user, etc.

We want it to come from a standardize from address.  "Leadership Academy" My user account is LeaderShipAcademy@mydomain.com

I have log in info etc.

In my company we have MFA enabled and users change password every 30 days.  I don't want to have to authenticate this account every time it send an email and I dont want to have to update the connection every time a password is changed.

So I had a separate user created with it's own mailbox and then went through our IT processes to get special approvals not to have MFA and not to have to change passwords.

    Thanks,

    Terry

    @Mattw112IG

If you have created a new connection and supplied the username and password for the "service account" when creating the connection, then you don't need to use "Send as" - the email will be sent showing "from" the connection being used.  Please double check the action to be sure the new connection has been selected.

this is not what the question was... the question was how do you send an email from power automate with a service account. there should be a way to down vote non-answers like in stack overflow.

this actually answers the question and should be marked as correct. Thanks Scott.
