Missing Connection Reference causing Solution export to fail.

Over the years I have had many problems with the Solution Export with Power Pages (and Apps / flow) based on Dataverse. I have another issue now that is stopping solution export / import.

Export is fine but when I import, I get this error in the log file

The evaluation of the current component (name=connectionreference, id=123456) in the current operation (Update) failed during managed property evaluation of condition: Managed Property Name: iscustomizableanddeletable; Component Name: connectionreference; Attribute Name: iscustomizable
I have changed the GUID details to 123456.

There isn’t a connection reference with GUID 123456 in the souce (dev environment), in the solution export OR in the target environment (production). All of the answers i can find on the web start with locting the connection reference, but as far as i can see, there isn't one.

I have used a number of tools in XRMToolBox, mostly  Record Lookup by GUID and its not finding anything. I have also search manually (in Make.PowerPages / Data).

I have noted that a few updates are needed around Dynamics in the production site so I an running those, but I am not confident.

Any suggestions as to what you would do? I am using ‘upgrade’ with the solution update, anyone use ‘update’. There is limited information.

Any help / pointers most welcome.

    I would go to

    1. Solutions Tab (in the exporting environment)
    2. Go to Unmanaged (default tab)
    3. Open the default solution
    4. Go down to connection references

See if you can find it.
If so, then click its ... and select Advanced to look for dependencies.

Its possible it is in use somehow in the export

    OR

it was used on the Import (environment) and when you are trying to do import it breaks because there is a dependency somewhere

So do the same steps above in your Target environment and see if you find it.

If not then it means there is metadata somewhere that actually believes (and it sucks to find it) it had one. And in that case we have much more work to do.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
