Cascading dropdown from Choice columns plus extra option

Dear all,

I am coming with another cascading dropdown request. First, I want to mention that I have checked every single message on this board about the topic, searched on Google, watched a ton of Youtube videos but none of the proposed solution worked in my case.

So here is the situation: I have a Sharepoint list with 3 single choice columns:

Starting from the list I have created a custom power app form with dropdowns (Power app wizard created for me).

The form works ok I can select separate values and save but I want the following:

After I select Country, in the CC dropdown I want to see only the CC corresponding to that country and "Other". For example if I have selected Canada I want to see in the CC dropdown the options CC Canada and Other. Same for currency if I have selected Canada I want to see in the Currency dropdown the options CAD and USD.

Thank you for your time!

    Hi @raduci ,

    Where is your list with all the relationships between these elements ? Choice columns are not going to do that.

    Sorry, I was not aware I need that, can you please point to some example?

    @raduci ,

    You need a list with all the combinations for each level and then filter cascading drop-downs as you choose items. Your choices fields to not have any relationships between them. If you have a go at this and post some code, I am happy to look at it.

    I was thinking that may be needed 🙂 Something like the list below for Currency for example?

    CountryCurrency
    UKGPB
    CanadaCAD
    GermanyEUR
    UKUSD
    CanadaUSD
    GermanyUSD

    @raduci ,

    Yes that is the structure that you need to look up for the second drop down based on what is selected in the first

    Ok, I have created the mentioned list (DemoCurrency), name of the main list is Demo, and added as data source to the app. What should I enter in the Currency Items in order to get the compare the data in Country and show only corresponding entries in DemoCurrency?

    @raduci ,

    The first

    DemoCurrency.Country

    second

    Filter(
     DemoCurrency,
     Country = YourFirstComboBox.Selected.Country
    ).Currency

    Thank you! Almost there, but what should be entered as "YourFirstComboBox" ?

    I have tried "Contry_DataCard1" or "DataCardValue2" and it fails

    @raduci ,

    The combo box, not the data card.

    Great! Finally, it works as intended with the only remark that now the first dropdown Country shows all occurrences of Countries in the DemoCurrency list. I have tried to substitute the list name DemoCurrency with Demo or use Distinct(DemoCurrency,Country) but it fails
