Hi,

I'm trying to update an item in a sharepoint list with a flow.

The flow is triggered from a button in PowerApps

I am using UpdateItem.

I have no idea what to put in the required "title" field.

Can you help please?

Thanks

Phil

Take a look at the list settings in SharePoint.  Every custom list starts with a column called Title.  People frequently change the Display name for the title, but you still have to use Title in Flow.  YOu should be able to see which column it is in the List settings.  That column is required to have data.  So fill it in with whatever.  If you are updating an item the existing Title should be in Dynamic content already.  You can re-use that.

    Thank you @Pstork1 ,

I see the title column. The column is populated and that is the information I use in "Id" because it is the unique value for the particular row I want to update. So I thought "Id" was for identifying the row to be updated.

I have tried using the same information in "Title" but the flow fails.

What is the difference between the "Id" and "Title" columns required in the flow? Maybe if I understaood that I could work it out.

    Phil

When updating an item, the existing title is NOT in Dynamic Content. Lets say you have a list item id stored in another application and want to use it to just do a quick update on a list item. Without actually doing a Get Item action on the list item to get the original title, you cannot just use the value that was there.
