additional input required from approver

Hello All,

Apologies if this is raised earlier but I can't get my head around and not sure if this is possible.

We are building a vendor onboarding flow where vendor will upload the documents and it will go through multi-level approvers.

Now, when it reaches Approver1. The person needs to input few details related to vendor and then approve it.

And then when it reaches Approver2, the person will view the inputs submitted by Approver1 and upload one attachment and then approve it.

Then, the Approver3 will see all the data submitted by Approver1 and Approver2 before approving.

So, I want to know

1. Is it possible to have an ability for Approver1 to enter the text or select from dropdown the data

2. Is it possible to attach a file to the approval at Approver2 level

Appreciate if someone can help me or point me to the correct guidelines.

Thanks!

@sagarshaha  do you want to add input field to approval provided by Power Automate, i think that is not directly possible, you can provide a link to form within approval so approver can click link to go a form to fill in the inputs, that form can be a PowerApps form from which you can save data back to SharePoint list. And for next approver provide link to the same form which can populate details from SharePoint list.

Hello @annajhaveri , Thank you so much for your prompt response!

Giving additional click and steps will not be liked by the approver but I liked the idea of giving a link.

So, this is how the approval looks like. So, I was thinking if there is a way we can add something under "Details" or add something under comments so the approver can just select it from dropdown and then approve it.

Also, the next approver will upload his own attachment as well on top of the data he will review from approver1.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks!

@sagarshaha  i understand the requirement but approval does not provide option to take inputs or files from approver, so there are only work arounds. You can try using adaptive cards for approval which will allow inputs from approver, but not attachment, however that will be whole change of approach of implementation.

Hello @annajhaveri , do you mind pointing me to the correct link for adaptive cards? I haven't used it before so need to start from basic 🙂

Once again, really appreciate your help!

    Thanks!

@sagarshaha  usually adaptive cards are used with Approval from MS Teams, you could also do with emails.

Here are some links that could help. This approach would also have some limitations, so i would suggest to map your requirements with this approach and see if adaptive card suffices your requirements.
