Transferring Power Automate Desktop Flows Between Computers: A Step-by-Step Guide

I have written several flows in Power Automate Desktop. Now, I would like to transfer them to another computer. I conducted a search on my disk, but I am unsure how to correctly identify the flow, how to export it, and finally how to import it onto another computer.

I have the same question (0)

They're stored in the cloud. If the idea is to use the same Microsoft account on the other computer, you don't need to transfer anything. All you need to do is sign in to PAD using the same account on the other computer, and you'll have your flows available to you.

If you want to transfer them between user accounts or environments, there are a few ways to do it:

    1. If you have a Premium account, you can create a Solution in the cloud portal and add the flows to the solution. You can then export them as a .zip file that can be imported in other environments.
    2. If you have a Premium account, but only want to share it with other users within the same environment, you can simply share it via the cloud portal.
    3. If you do not have a Premium account, you would need to copy the flows to text files and then paste them back on the target user's machine into the PAD designer. See here for reference: https://www.wiseowl.co.uk/blog/s2989/copy-flow.htm

Do you have premium license for Power Automate? If so then best way is to use export/import.

Or you could just login to the same account in Power Automate Desktop in the different computer.

But if you need to move just the Power Automate Desktop flow and don't have premium license and cant use the same Power Automate account then you can just copy and paste the code.

    1. Select all actions (Ctrl + A) and copy them (Ctrl + C)

    2. Paste the code into text editor like notepad

    3. Move the notepad file which has all the code to the new computer
    4. Copy the code from the note pad (in the new computer)

    5. Paste the code to the new PAD flow

Note that the Power Automate Desktops should be same versions in both computers (or atleast the one that you created the flow on shouldn't be newer version than where the flow is moved to). So remember to update the new computers PAD to newest version.
