Hi folks,

I have a flow successfully running to save attachments to my OneDrive.

The problem is that Flow does recognize  an attachment of type "outlook item" (for isntance another email or invite attached)  but the file is not saved to OneDrive.

Any thoughts?

    Hi @RPDM,

Currently, Flow does not support obtaining the "Outlook item" contained in the email. Only Attached Files included in the email can be obtained.

I am afraid that relying on existing actions cannot achieve your needs.

If you want to the feature that you mentioned to be supported in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

    Best Regards,

    Barry

    Hi everyone,

I recently encountered an issue where Power Automate wasn't recognizing Outlook items (like embedded emails or calendar events) as traditional attachments. After some research, I found a solution using the Microsoft Graph API.

How to Retrieve Outlook Item Attachments:

1 - List All Attachments on an Email:

Use the following Graph API call to get all attachments (including Outlook items) for a specific email:

2 - Identify the Outlook Item Attachment:

Look for attachments with "@odata.type": "#microsoft.graph.itemAttachment" in the response.

3 - Expand the Outlook Item to Get Details:

Use the attachment ID to fetch the full item (e.g., embedded email, event, or contact) by expanding the item property:

This will return the full details of the embedded Outlook item, allowing you to process it as needed.
Hope this helps anyone facing the same issue!

    Best regards,
