Recurring Flow with Update Action

Is there a way to add an 'Update' action to a recurring flow that does not lock the flow into a loop?

I have a 'When an item is created or updated' flow that run at 7:30 am. If the Status (set by a button in Power Apps,
is 'Approved by Manager' send an email.

At that point the Status needs to be changed from 'Approved by Manager' to 'Meeting Pending'.

If not, the email will get stuck in a loop and go out again in 24 hours and keep going out.

I tried to add an 'Update Action' to the flow but got a loop error.

What are my options?

Hi @Phineas

Use a service account to perform the update.
Then add a trigger condition to your flow. Something like:

@not(equals(triggerOutputs()?['Editor']?['Email'],'serviceaccount@email.address'))
