Hi everyone,

I have created a  Leave Request application on PowerApps.  I would like to link this application with Flow , i.e  I have created a button in PowerApps in order to trigger Approval Flow.

I have tried to put formula behind button control in order to trigger Flow but It doesn't work.

And how can I retrieve approval status in my application ?

Could anyone help me about that ?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Tahina

To connect a flow to powerapps, you need to follow the below steps:

    1) Select the button control in canvas app and select actions from the top menu.
    2) Select Flows and this will open a menu in right side.
    3) Select the flow to Register it. Make sure that the OnSelect property of the button is used to place the expression.

    Expression would be something like:

    FlowName.Run(Parameters)

Here, Parameters refers to the inputs defined in your flow. This would be blank if no parameters are passed, FlowName.Run()

    Hope this Helps!

    Hi @Tahina ,

Please check the Online doc and see how to create a simple integrated application of MS Flow and PowerApps.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/using-logic-flows

But according to your description, you could create a Flow that it use When an item is created as a trigger, and then configure the Approval action.

    Like:

The role of this app is to create a new item, so when you click Submit, the above Flow will be automatically triggered and create an Approval request.

    Hope it makes sense.

    Best Regards,

    Hello @RezaDorrani ,

Thanks for response but what I want to know is how to set formula behind the button after clicking in "Flow"  sub menu, and then creating flow which can send email to manager in order to approve "Leave request" item.

    Hi @Tahina

In PowerApps, Select the button and then go to Action Tab in top Menu -> then select Flows in sub menu ->create a new flow or select an existing one
