Newby can't figure out how to create a "Scheduled Cloud Flow."

I'm trying to create my first flow, following the steps in this article.  In the article, the first step says to "Open Power Automate click New flow and then select Scheduled cloud flow."  That's where I'm stuck.  I don't know if I have a strange version of Power Automate, but I don't see "Scheduled cloud flow" anywhere!  Can someone please help?  When I click "New Flow" I just get a pop-up that looks like this:

Can someone please tell me what I'm missing?  Thank you!

    Hi @cfew

    Welcome to the community!

First, we need to know what you are trying to do, because there are two different types of Power Automate. Your screenshot looks like Power Automate Desktop, this is an app you can install on your client to automate tasks using Robotic Process Automation, these flows are called "Desktop Flows", read more here: Power Automate - Desktop flows | Microsoft Learn. Then there is the web browser version, which is used in most cases and also explained within the blog post you referenced to. These flows are called "Cloud flows", read more here: Power Automate - Cloud flows | Microsoft Learn

Depending on the task you want to achieve, you need to choose between these two. In most cases you can use cloud flow as most systems have an API (Application Programming Interface), e.g. SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Teams, MS Forms and over 600 other third party connectors.

You can access the Power Automate cloud flows using this URL: https://make.powerautomate.com

    Select "My Flows" or "Create":

Then you can start with a template or build your own flow. This design changed over time, the blog post you are referencing to is a bit older and doesn't look the same anymore.

Depending on what you want to automate, there might be already a template you can use, otherwise you need to create your own. Also you can see "more ways to automate" with "Desktop flow", we are not using this now.

If you select "build your own", you need to select a trigger and an action to get started:

There you already see "Scheduled" and you can configure it within the screen:

next you can select an action what you want to do:

You can also skip this wizard to just get started with a blank flow. In this case I selected to send a mail:

Afterwards you can go on and build your flow.

Happy automating! If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. If you have a new question, you should post a new thread within this community as it is more likely to be seen. Afterwards just reply on the same thread, until your question is answered. It also helps to search around within this forum as a lot of questions you might have are already answered.

Does this help you? Otherwise please give me some more information.

    Best regards
    Marvin

    That is strange.

Are you able to get to your Microsoft 365 home page for Power Automate? If you can, then you should try to create a flow with one of the templates and see if that at least gets you into the creator.

To get to the Power Automate home page for your account get to your Microsoft 365 account by opening something like Excel or MS Word and clicking File then Account and then Manage Account. Then follow the Apps selection to Power Automate. From there you should be on a page where you will see options on the sidebar and templates on the page.

Try to open one of the templates and see if you can at least create a flow.

Go to Manage Account in MS 365Go to Manage Account in MS 365

Go to Manage you MS 365 Account

Select Apps Power AutomateSelect Apps Power Automate

Select Power Automate in the Apps sidebar options

    Power Automate HomepagePower Automate Homepage

Select one of the templates on the power automate homepage.

Let me know if you were able to at least create a template or get to the App home page
