Hello all,
I am quite new to this topic and just trying to make the first steps.
One of my first requirements is to create a course on our e-learning platform. This is all working fine so far and the first run through with editing and configuring fits. If I start a new round after creating the first element, finding the copy no longer works.
There is a template which is used to copy and create a new course. After creating the copy, I land on a list view in which I must select the copy to edit it further.
On the first run this works because the position of the course was defined with the Web Recorder. On the second run the copied course gets a different position in the list and is not found by the automation but another (wrong) course is selected for editing.
I had tried many approaches with creating variables, search definitions on the homepage itself but in the end I always fail because the course creates an ID when it is copied. If I remove this via the selectors, the call of the UI element no longer works. The HTML text actually contains the title of the course but this is not used?
Therefore my question, how do I make it best that a homepage is searched for a certain name/title, if this was found the link behind it is clicked or the url is called
Thanks!
