MS Bookings 'When a appointment is Created' - return authors email address

Hi All,

First post on the forum please be kind 🙂 apologies if this has already been answered (I have tried to look for something similar but to no avail) and I'm very new to power automate.

I am trying to return the authors email address within a variable when using the 'When a appointment is Created' MS booking trigger. It's easy enough to pull the staff members as its already built in to the dynamic content, but I haven’t been able to successfully write an expression that pulls the authors email. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

    Hi @RedJamUK,

Have you enabled the Customer email custom field in your service?

If so, it should show up in the dynamic contents list.

    Alternatively, try this expression:

    triggerOutputs()?['body/CustomerEmail']

    Hi @Expiscornovus

Many thanks for your reply, I might not have explained myself correctly or I maybe missing the point.

I am looking to return the email address of the author or person organising the booking from within the bookings app, this person is not a customer and might not be included within the actual booking (not classed a staff member)

    Kind Regards

    Hi @RedJamUK,

    Thanks for the additional information.

As far as I am aware the trigger action outputs does not return any details about this author, I only see serviceId and some other details of the service.

Also had a look at the Get service Graph API method. It seems that this endpoint is also not returning any author details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/bookingservice-get?view=graph-rest-1.0

Sorry, might be a limitation of the APIs.

    Hi @Expiscornovus

I was hoping not to include the person booking as they will never be attending the meetings. But if thats the case, I will instruct the person making the booking to add themselves to meeting so they are returned within the staff members list.

    Thanks again for your help

    Kind Regards

    Hi @RedJamUK,

I have also had a look at some other methods of the Graph API. I have spotted an email property on the Get BookingBusiness method:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/bookingbusiness-get?view=graph-rest-1.0#response-1

It is worth double checking if that one is useful for you.
