User ID from PowerApps to SharePoint

Hi all,

 

I am not sure if this is a power apps or a flow question, so any guidance is appreciated.

 

  • I have a form in PowerApps, linked to a person picker in SharePoint
  • When a person is picked, there is a button to submit the form (this bit works fine)
  • I have a variable that is created from the person picker (the on select property). This variable is used to update another sharepoint list, also a person field, via a flow that is triggered from the submit button.
  • The issue is that I don't seem to be able to extract the person ID that the flow needs to update the list correctly. I have seen a few related topics but can't seem to get them to work. Ideally what I want is:
    • variable defined in powerapps
    • sent to flow
    • flow uses it to update a person field

Any pointers or links would be appreciated.

    You should add the Office365User to get the user id.

    Then Set(varUserId,Office365Users.UserProfileV2(***reference to people picker email address here***).id)

     

    You can then send varUserId value to the flow

    Thanks - it turns out that the issue was actually something else, but the solution worked for the issue I detailed!
