New App - PowerApps - assistance

Hi there, I am new to PowerApps & I am still learning. I am planning to create a new app with employee travel information. In that app, when an employee selects "Yes" to Manager approval required, then I would an email to be sent to manager's email. Currently I have created a "Model Driven App", table & one form where every information related to employee & travel info in that form.

Can you please assist me in that in regards to how I can approach. Thanks your assistance in advance.

    Hello @mgroms

     

    There are two ways to achieve this behaviour.

     

    1. Trigger email on DataVerse

    2. Trigger email from PowerApps

     

    1. When a record is created in PowerApps and it stored in DataVerse, you can create an Real time or background workflow to send email.

     

    2. In the PowerApps screen while clicking on Save button in the App trigger SendEmail if the button Manager approval required is Yes.

    @rampprakash thanks for your reply. what CDS operations can be selected as I am planning to send an email when yes is selected in the "Manager Approval" drop down menu ? Appreciate your assistance.

    Hello @mgroms,

     

    Navigate to https://make.powerapps.com

    Click on Gear icon at the top

    Then Click Advance Settings

    Then Click Process

    Then Click New --> select the Entity --> Select the Process as Workflow --> Run as Background

    One Page Opened then select the stage 

    Add a Condition and Check Manager Contains Data

    Send Email

     

    Note:

     

    Make Sure mailbox is enabled.
