Get Attachment (V2)

Building simple flow, each week i recieve an email with 4-5 attachments, one is an .xlsx. looking to pull the attchment out and add it to a Sharepoint folder. Issue i keep having is the flow skips the V2 (true) side. Placed a V2 (false) and i get 4 emails when I run a test indicating its reading the attachements.  The 'Apply to Each' loop it does pick out the 4 attachments in my test email but doesn't pass it on. Copilot and Chatgpt 'appear' to offer different advice, time for human intervention, Skynet is not quite ready yet....

What did you use in your condition action?

You can use the Attachments Name field and check if it ends with xlsx.

Below is an example of that.
Note: I added a Subject filter value in my trigger action to make testing a bit easier, ignore that setting.

    Thanks, Expiscornovus couple of issues
    • My condition expression was endsWith(item()?['Name'], '.xlsx')
    • adding your attachement, as belowthe expression when ran changed the 'Attachment Name' to Name and failed.
    • Previously the flow would run, but skip 'Get Attchment V2' and 'Create File'and I even got the 'False' condition to send an email for each attchment present in the original e-mails recieved. I know there must be one small thing I'm missing here...

Technically what you are showing is not a fail, it just skipped the actions in the True section. So, it probably was going to False instead. However, you don't have any actions in the False section. Can you add a Compose action (with a random text message) in the False section? This way visually you can more easily spot if it goes to False section.

Additionally, I see the screenshot you are sharing only shows page 1 of 4 of the Apply to each action. Do all 4 pages/items go to False and skip the True section? Can you double check this?

added a send an Email and it I get 4 emails saying it's read the/ found the 4 attachements
As mentioned, I'm very new to this. As a civil engineer not a data analyst or IT person per say but I'm interested in bridging the gap between the world I live in and structured data sets. I see a huge potential to cross over this especially in Asset Management and this is all about data (points and structure) and the decisions made from it. Thanks, again for your help here.

Before your Condition, add a 'For Each' action, and select the 'Attachments' from Outlook as the parameter.

As you talk it through in your head, it should sound like: 'For each attachment in this email, where the attachment filename ends with xlsx, Get the attachment and Create the file on Sharepoint'.

    Hope that helps..

In the screenshot the selection of the operator (it looks like it is equal to) and the value on the right side are blocked by the fx/expression dialog, I cannot see what you used over there (I assume true).

And I see you have use an expression with the endswith function in the left side of the criteria.

You can simplify this by using the dynamic content property and the operator dropdown in the dropdown. The ends with is also listed in the dropdown, so you don't have to use an expression.

Below is an example if that helps?

    1. Finding the attachments name property

    2. Using the ends with operator
