Power Automate fails to focus web element inside iframe

For more context. The site has an iframe with dashboards inside and I have to extract the data from the last dashboard of the iframe. Since the target is not in sight I have to scroll down to find it and for that I tried using the function "focus on text field on a web page".

I select the web item (I have tried several components: dashboard, title and content of dashboard) to focus but when I run the flow it fails to find it. If I run the flow and scroll downwards beforehand it successfully focus it. I also tried using javascript but it seems it does not execute in the browser.

Is there any other way to make it scroll all the way down of the iframe? Or is there a solution to make the Focus function work as intended?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

Hi @franco2  I hope you are doing well.

The iframe itself usually have its own URL, so here below is my recommendation:

    1. Go to your main web page.
    2. Get the Iframe URL.
    3. Use the Go to Web Page Antion and go to the new URL (Iframe url).
    4. Focus. Populate or extract the information needed.
    5. Go back to the main and primary URL.

Please let me know if it works, happy automation!,

It is a great idea but the iframe URL needs authrorization to load.

Hi @franco2  I hope you are doing well.

Does the main page require the same authorization?

If yes, probably when it’s loading the iframe URL lost the main URL authorization, interesting.

In this case, try to use one of the following tecniques:

    Process 1 – Use 2 Browser

    1. Go to your main web page.
    2. Get the Iframe URL.
    3. Launch a blank URL.
    4. Use the Go to Web Page Antion and go to the Blank URL (Iframe url) while you are still with the credentials of the Main URL.
    5. Focus. Populate or extract the information needed.
    6. Repeat the process.

    Process 2 – Focus action.

    1. Use the Focus action in the Main URL
    2. Select an element out of the Iframe, but an element at the bottom of the web page.

    Process 3 – Send Keys

    1. Use the Send Keys action and Down or End Keys to the URL.
    2. This way you get to the bottom of the screen OR where you can visualize the Iframe element needed.

Please let me know if any of this ideas helps you, happy automation!,
