I Have a choices column in a SharePoint list that I'd like to add as a dropdown to my powerapp, its currently appearing in the app as a text field and I can't seem to get the formula right to get it working.
Hello,
Is this a view form? or a new / edit form or non-form but in view mode?

Hi @FLMike
Its an edit form, a leave request app that staff fill in and i want the department (Program) they're from to be a dropdown they choose from
For you:
1. remove the text box
2. add a drop down (unless you allow multiples then use a combobox
3. set the items to Choices(TestList.MyChoice) (where TestList is my list and MyChoice is my column)
Then you should be good
Mine below
1. Created a sharepoint list with a choice
2. added an edit form to my canvas app
3. set it to new (changed from edit)
and you can see its a drop down.
**Can you also verify that you have it set to show as a drop down in the settings.
do you mean here?
I've got it to now show as a dropdown, but the options are not there
What did you type in the Items property?
I see that you have some red X's on the control itself. That could be the problem.
You should not have those.
Just for sanity sake (for me) as it just seems there is something goofy in your datacard
1. add a new Edit Form
2. change it to New
3. Set the datasource to your list
Does the drop down it creates show the items (like mine does in the picture I showed of mine)
yep it does, so do i add a new form but only pick that field?
Hi,
I want to say it depends on the design you are doing. So compared to what you had, yes, you would remove the rest of the stuff, but I don't know what your intent is.
If the program is the only field they are selecting from that list, then the answer is yes. If its all the stuff then add whatever fields you need.
Also how are you saving it. Are you using a Submit Button, are you writing your own Patch statement etc?
