I've got the following problem/question:

I am creating a powerapps form, with one field (which i want to ideally be a drop-down, however it does not necesseraly have to be one) listing all manufactuers that are saved in a sql-database. I saw, that creating a connector on a drop down field using a SQL-feature would require a permium model. However the premium pricing models have so massivley confused me, that i came here to ask for assistance.

Is there any way to do this without a premium model? And if not, which model do i have to chose?

I specifically want (When you "open"/click the manufactuer field) all the manufactuers in the mentioned SQL Database to be shown. Like i said, it does not have to be a drop-down field. That's just the first thing that came to mind.

I would be very thankful for any help and thank you in advance!

If you want to get data from a SQL database it will require a Premium connection. There is no way around that. User's of the app can have either a per user or a per app license. To run the app it doesn't matter which.

first of all, thanks for the reply:

now, do all members, who use this form, have to have a premium model? Or is the person creating the model enough?

Once again, i don't know how huge the difference is, since i just started working with powerapps, i am not intending to create an app, i am just intending to create a form. Therefore, my question is the following:

If i get a premium plan, create a form for my organisation, including the manufactuers field as an sql and so on, will everybody else in the organisation (without a premium plan), be able to casually access that sharepoint list and see all the manufactuers when they try to add a new "item" to the list?

Once again, purchasing the premium version, isn't the problem, i only want to know if there is a way around it / if only the person creating the form needs premium or if everyone intended to use to use the form needs that feature / premium.

Anyone using the form must have a premium license. If by Form as opposed to app you mean a customized form in SharePoint, its still an app. Its just an app in a specific setup. Anyone who uses the app will need a premium license. Licensing is applied at the app level, not the component level. It would be nice if it worked differently, but that's not how MS designed it.

Firt of all thank you, i do have one more question tho!

Which license model would all the users in the company need? There would be a lot of people using the form (And we would need to make atleast two forms in total). Obviously we want to keep the costs as cheap as possible. The pricing models however confuse me very much if im being honest.

If it uses SQL data and its the only app that the majority of people use then all you would need is per app licenses. A per app license lets a user run one premium app. For users who run multiple premium apps you would need to buy them a per user license. You can have a mix with some people using per user and some using per app. There is also a special license called pay as you go. For that you are charged for each user that uses the app in a given month. So if a lot of the users are infrequent users that may be a less expensive alternative.
